Smith Equipment Manufacturing (www.smithequipment.com) designed its new Optimizer anti-surge flowmeter regulator to prevent gas flow surges that normally occur when a welding operator actives at MIG gun or TIG torch. The company says the regulator can deliver up to 70 standard cu. ft. per hour of gas; handles straight argon shield gas or an argon/CO2 mixture; and provides maximum pressure inlet of 3,000 psig. Features include a CGA 580 inlet connection and a 5/8-in., 18 RH internal outlet connection.
