Metal-cored electrode
Select-Arc
Inc. (www.select-arc.com) has introduced a metal-cored,
stainless steel electrode designed for difficultto-weld metals,
especially in automotive exhaust applications. The company says its
SelectAlloy 307C electrode is designed for difficult-to-weld and
dissimilar steels, including austenitic stainless to ferritic
stainless or carbon steel, ferritic to ferritic stainless and other
dissimilar metals found in automotive exhaust systems. The weld
deposit is nearly all austenitic, and is resistant to hot cracking
because of the presence of as much as 8 percent manganese.
