ATI Metalworking Products, a unit of Allegheny Technologies Inc., acquired Garryson Ltd. (www.garryson.com), renamed it ATI Garryson and relocated its U.S. operations to LaVergne, Tenn., a suburb of Nashville. ATI Metalworking is located in Lavergne.

ATI Garryson provides specialty abrasive products and carbide burs for weld preparation, deburring and finishing operations for the metalworking industry.

Allegheny Technologies Inc. said the acquisition puts ATI Garryson in a leading position in the market for specialty abrasive materials technology, and that it expects ATI Garryson to benefit from the advanced materials research, product development and testing conducted at its new facility.

ATI Garryson abrasive products include Flapdisc discs, Flap Wheels, a quick change range featuring mini disc and its trademarked "Mini Flexidisc" products. The company's burs are available in a variety of shapes and sizes — miniature, standard and extra long, and in a variety of standard styles.
