The site provides a guide to the technological innovations in welding and product and process information that the company is presenting for its educational value.
Neal Borchert, business development manager, for Miller Electric Mfg. Co., said the site was developed to support the educational community.
Located at www.millerwelds.com/instructors, the site lists welding packages, including accessories and filler metals, ranging from the most technologically advanced, inverter-based welders on the market to the affordable units that are suitable for educational purposes.
The site offers packages configured specifically for education in the MIG, TIG, Stick, oxy-fuel, plasma cutting, multi-process and multi-operator categories and commonly used filler metals for each welding process. The site also offers detailed specifications for each product, including recommended applications, comparisons to competitors' products and explanations of the technology involved in each model.
In addition to product recommendations, the site includes a variety of free classroom resources, including online student training, downloadable books and pamphlets, reference materials, tech tips, welding project ideas and desktop images.
A feedback portion of the site leads directly to Borchert to allow instructors to ask him questions about products and projects.
